WiseChoice is a server-based internet filter and porn blocker that analyzes web addresses and keywords typed into search engines. Each time a user types in an internet address, clicks on a link to an internet address or types in a word to search for, the address or keyword are routed back to the provider's servers and checked against a database to determine if the website is suitable for viewing. If the website is not considered suitable, a message is instantly sent to the user via their browser stating the site is not accessible, and the reasons why.
WiseChoice provides all the benefits of a server-based filter, taking the hard work and hassle out of protecting your family. However, it also has the usual drawback of taking the decision making out of your hands regarding what's appropriate and what's not. In other words, a good choice for some families, and not so good for others.
